National program on Standardization

Providing an adequate response to the economic and political challenges in the world, to increase the technical level, quality and competitiveness of the products produced in the republic, to ensure their access to the world market, to meet the demands of the market and consumers, the production process, as well as the quality assessment, in order for Azerbaijan to successfully step into the post-oil era. a modern approach to the organization of the service sphere is required. The experience of developed countries shows that in order to achieve these goals, the application of international standards for all segments of the economy, the implementation of periodic inspections for the revision of national standards, and the systematization (programming) of work on the development of new standards that meet modern requirements play a decisive role.
The planning of the development of national standards should be in accordance with the main directions of the socio-economic development of the Republic of Azerbaijan, should take into account the results of modern scientific research and should meet the requirements of the normative legal acts of the Republic of Azerbaijan.

The planning of national standards preparation works is carried out in the form of a 3-year national standardization program formulated, approved and published by the national standardization body.

The national program on standardization is prepared taking into account the requirements of normative legal acts, technical regulations related to standardization, work plans of technical committees on standardization and does not apply to the preparation of international, regional, interstate standards, primary national standards and advanced codes of practice.

The national program on standardization includes:

► international classification code of standards;
► names of projects of standards, technical-economic information classifications;
► the basis for the preparation of the work;
► the main normative base;
► duration of work;
► source of funding;
► the name of the customer-organization that made the offer;
► commodity nomenclature of foreign economic activity.

The project of the national program on Standardization was developed by the Azerbaijan Standardization Institute with the participation of Technical Committees and relevant state and private enterprises.
