Training courses were held on the topics of “ General requirements for halal food” and “Requirements for conformity assessment and organizations working on halal certification”.

Upon request of Azerbaijan Standardization Institute (AZSTAND) which operates under the State Service for Antimonopoly and Consumer Market Supervision the Standards and Metrology Institute for Islamic Countries (SMIIC) administered a fundamental online training program for employees of the Azerbaijan Food Safety Institute (AQTI). This course, held from March 5th to March 7th, 2024, focused on the OIC/SMIIC 1:2019 "General Requirements for Halal Food" and OIC/SMIIC 2:2019 "Requirements for Conformity Assessment and Organizations Working on Halal Certification."

The training sessions were facilitated by esteemed trainers Emel Gonch and Yasin Zulfikaroglu from SMIIC. Over the course of four days, participants were provided insights into the operations of SMIIC, received comprehensive overviews of Halal-related issues addressed in OIC SMIIC standards, and gained understanding on the process of recognizing SMIIC standards as national standards.

Upon successful completion of the training program, participants were awarded certificates acknowledging their participation and achievement.
