The regional workshop with the theme of "Protecting of Intellectual Property Rights" held on 10-12 December this year in Vienna, organized by the World Trade Organization

The regional workshop with the theme of "Protecting of Intellectual Property Rights", organized by the World Trade Organization (WTO) was held in Vienna, Austria on 10-12 December this year for the experts of the Central and Eastern European countries.

An employee of the State Committee for Standardization, Metrology and Patent represented Azerbaijan in the workshop attended by a total 30 experts from Turkey, Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, Ukraine, Georgia, Moldova, Israel, Montenegro and Iran

The general information was given about the WTO "Agreement on trade-related aspects of Intellectual Property Rights", the general principles of protection of intellectual property rights, inclusion of these principles in the trade agreements, the existing data resources on this issue, customs procedures, international police cooperation against transnational crime on intellectual property, the activity of the Advisory Committee on Protecting of Intellectual Property Rights of the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO), provision issues in the WTO dispute settlement system and the different other issues of the WTO, WIPO, Interpol and the World Customs Organization were declared in the workshop. Also views interchanged on the activity of the court on protection of intellectual property rights during the workshop. Together with that, an employee of the State Committee for Standardization, Metrology and Patent representing our country delivered both written and oral lectures about the works done in the field of protection of intellectual property rights in Azerbaijan.
